Fierce and strong eagle claws holding warm cognac or caramel coloured treasures firmly in their grip in this stunning set of earrings and pendant in silver. This absolutely wonderfully detailed set is actually a marriage - meaning that the earrings and the pendant weren't orginally made together but has been picked out to be a set because they match so well. There are tiny details giving this away, like the tip of the claws looking every so slightly different, aswell as the feathering on the legs. The earrings are set with very dark citrines and the pendant with a paste in similar colour. The pendant has at some point been both a broch and a pendant, you can see remnants of the brooch fitting in the back, if you look very closely. Made in the end of the 19th century or possibly the first years of the 20th this set is antique.
The earrings measures 4.4 cm long including hook fittings and weighs 5.2 grams each. The pendant is 5.2 cm long and weighs 17.3 grams.
The general condition is very good, some minor wear to the silver. On the gem set in the pendant there are some small chips to the girdle to the upper part. Please see photos for details. This is not very noticeable when worn.
The aged silver is gorgeously oxidated by the years which adds to the wilderness style appeal of the set, but they could of course be polished off if you prefer a more bright look.
