Best boy reverse carved crystal ring

A ring from the turn of the last century, featuring a skillfully reverse carved intaglio of the sweetest bulldog (or frenchie). Careful painting of the back of the carved crystal has given him a red leather collar with gold studs, a soft brown fur and dark grey shadows for his ears and muzzle. The dog gazes out at us with his loyal amber eyes and his white teeth peeking out in the most adorable underbite. Set against a golden background which captures the light and makes the whole image even more three-dimensional, into a two coloured 14 carat gold ring, yellow gold for the band and rosy gold in the two decorative beads on the ring's shoulders. This ring from the turn of the last century features a skillfully reverse carved intaglio with the sweetest bulldog (or frenchie). Presumably Central European in origin, made ca 1900 and in excellent antique condition. Minor surface wear to the crystal.
