Utterly romantic and lovely example of the much loved theme 'crowned heart' ring - this 19th century example boasts a beautiful chased band and a very bright and sparkly rose cut diamond for heart, with an adorable diamond set crown on top.
The ring is so delightful and beautiful, and smooth on the hand. It's center diamond measures a little over 6 x 5 mm, it is foiled and set in silver. Foil still bright and the diamond is very sparkly. In fact the whole ring head is made in silver, and it has a smooth little "butt" to the back. The gold band is wonderful with its beautiful chased pattern. As happens with many old pieces, this ring has at some point in time been lovingly reworked. The heart appears to have come from an older jewel, with a 15k band added in the second half of the 19th century. One of the three smaller rose cut diamonds in the crown seems to have been replaced.
In very good antique condition, wear commensurate with age. Currently a size 6 US. Can only be re-sized a little.
