Magical modernist moonstone ring: Made by Jan Brunk, in Stockholm , Sweden year 1976.
A tactile ring of extraordinary beautiful design. Modelled in 18 carat gold, with the most magical white sheen in the luminous stone. Thanks to the gold setting, shaped as a cup under the moonstone, it gives off a golden glow in some angles. The whole ring is a thing of beauty, from the soft edges to the band to the structured surface of the gold on the setting that holds up the gemstone like a flower on a stem. Could be worn as a pendant too, so you get to admire the design in all its glory .
Jan Brunk worked for famous designer Claës E. Giertta from 1957-1965, and for well known purveyor to the royal court C.F. Carlman from 1965 - 1976. In 1976 he opened his own shop, so this ring is from his very first year doing work in his own name.
Size 5 1/4 US, this ring is a Cinderella fit, as the shape of the structural band is part of its design. It could be made a little smaller by adding an insert.
