Red and white paste pendant from the Georgian era
Red and white paste pendant from the Georgian era
Rare to find combination of red paste and white black dot paste in this Georgian era pendant and brooch. It's a very beautiful example with chunky white pastes and the red mimicking flat cut garnets. The drop can be removed and both parts can be worn on its own, making this jewel very versatile. Wearable as two different brooches and three pendants, as the top van be worn both as a brooch and a pendant by itself, while the drop can be worn either attached to the top part or as a pendant attached to a ribbon or chain.
Made in the late 18th in silver and foiled back paste. Measures 46 x 33 mm. In very good condition, wearing commensurate with age with some minor scratches to tge stones. The foil behind the pastes are in good shape. It may very well has begun its life as an earring. The brooch fitting is a later addition.
A very special old treasure, combining the sparkly white with the glow of the red.
